The hillbilly impact shorts that I actually received does not reflect the hideously colored shorts amazon has misrepresented, as the shorts are actually black in color. What a relief!! I wear a 31-32 waist and followed the size chart which designated a size small. The fit of the small, was snug at the waist, not too loose or tight with a thin thermal under. The thigh cuffs have elastic material in them to stretch across the outer diameter of your thigh, since my thigh's aren't big the thigh cuffs for the shorts were free floating which isn't entirely detrimental to the overall purpose of the shorts. Unlike other designs out there, I never once had to realign the shorts due to any shifts in the padding material under my pants. I've tried butt pads by several other companies, and these are by far the absolute best. They do make my behind significantly larger, but as a blocker, that's a plus. The tailbone protection is outstanding, and I haven't had a bruise on my hip since I've started wearing these.They run very large. Normally I'm either XL or XXL in most butt pads, but I take L in these. Also, as others have mentioned, they're blacker than the photo depicts. Lastly, the fabric under the padded parts is see-through mesh, so be ready to wear opaque tights or shorts underneath.
